If you are a fan of Motorola smartphones and have been waiting patiently to get your hands on the developer edition of the Motorola Atrix HD, earlier this month we let you know that the device was on its way, and now those that would like to own the Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition can purchase the device.
The developer edition of the Motorola Atrix HD joins other developer editions like the Motorola Droid RAZR M and Motorola Droid RAZR HD, and is now available to purchase from the Motorola website commanding a hefty price tag of $459.99 off contract of course.
As we have previously mentioned, the big draw with a developer edition smartphone is that the device does come with an unlockable bootloader so owners can set about tinkering with the device, and naturally if you do unlock the bootloader this will void any warranty.
Motorola does go as far as issuing a warning that the warranty will be voided, but then if you are into modding you aren’t going to worry about that warranty anyway.
Of course when it comes to specifications, the developer edition of the handset doesn’t offer anything new, so you can expect the same specs as with the non-developer edition of the Motorola Atrix HD so you will still get a 4.5-inch HD ColorBoost touch screen, along with a 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual core processor, 8 megapixel rear facing auto-focus camera with LED flash, 1080p video, a 1.3 megapixel front facing snapper, 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 1780mAh battery and microSD expansion up to 32GB.
Anyone who purchases the Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition can expect their device to begin shipping as of the 16th of December, so you’ll still have a couple of weeks to wait before being able to tinker with the handset.
Any of our Android readers considering purchasing the Motorola Atrix HD Developer Edition?
